The Vanilla 2 interface card was designed as generic hardware that could be integrated into many different machines by controlling the software, rather than customizing the hardware platform for each individual printer engine. OEM printer engines, however, do not deliver sufficient current to power the generic interface platform in the same manner or in the same locations, thus a hardware jumper system was implemented to allow for variations in the power sources and necessary cabling. The following chart will aid field technicians in their task of replacing or upgrading to Vanilla 2 interfaces in the field.
